What does mothers day in the US look like? Where i live you will usually visit your mom or maybe gradma and bring them some flowers. Little kids usually craft something in school and learn a poem or song thats about mom / mothers day. I was confused, i first thought she wants to make a Bridgerton watch party with Julie and wondered if the show is age appropriate. But sounds like she is just making herself a pamper day

each family celebrates different. i personally like a day of rest where no one bothers me and i don't have to make a meal. may is a good month for me it's my birthday, mothers day and anniversary so typically i'll get one bigger gift to encompass all three.

Kelly lives in really pretty rural Georgia from the looks of google maps based on her PO Box. I can't imagine anything is going for much of a premium there.

what city is she in? - nm i found it - she is on the other border of GA. i have heard of it - i don't know if i have traveled through....

some of that apology was heartfelt and some of it i was like "eeek stop talking you are making this not sound real"

Home girl is so out of the loop on Nantucket although she claims to have asked friends how to prepare, she didn’t have a couch or snacks to share which goes to show you that she wanted so bad to seem like a local but she really isn’t. Also I don’t why she just didn’t approach Elin. Home girl has no shame and nothing to lose. I mean every other celebrity she comes across she snaps their picture like an awkward fan. She wants so desperately to fit in and be a local that she didn’t want to seem phased by the sighting even though she was dying inside lol

i honestly was surprised that she didn't go out and immediately buy a couch to put out....

I’m guessing their address is on the trash/recycling bin. A lot of areas do that.

my thought to - she might have something stuck in the planter with the number on it as well.

I actually feel a level of embarrassment on Shay’s behalf when she mentions her “friends on the island.” They make small talk with the restaurant staff or that one hotel manager she made a huge deal over during spring break. They’re NOT actually part of any Nantucket community or social circle. Guaranteed. If they actually had any meaningful relationships there, these people would pop up in the photos of their nightly expensive restaurant dinners out…and NOT be waitstaff.

CORRECTION: it's "friends on island" there was no the. she very deliberately left that out at least the two times she said it. shes trying to speak like a local.

Someone asked her how they handle souvenirs with all of their travel. She said that when the kids were young, they could choose “one fun thing a day” and that they usually chose an ice cream cone. Now her kids have aged out of souvenirs and they don’t ask anymore. Does anyone believe that M being 8 or 9 doesn’t even ask for a souvenir? What about the teens? I don’t know what is typical for that age yet, but this is just one more way that Shay is better than everyone else and doesn’t ever have to think about the things we poors have to deal with.

yeah that's weird. my 20 year old daughter still collects snow globes from her travels, and my son who is about to be 15 next month collects a new hat from each place he visits.

Maybe this has been said before but after watching Oakley’s video I think there’s something seriously wrong going on with Adam, those movements he was doing at L’s bday party aren’t normal!! I don’t think is anxiety and that’s not alcohol either…I can only think of something neurological or…well something else.
I think it was very low of her to show this on her IG.

I thought the same thing. I looked like Parkinson style movements.

I'm not trying to diagnose or anything, just what the movements reminded me of. Gosh, I hope he lives a long and prosperous healthy life. Those poor children need ONE parent who has their best interests at heart.

could it be like tourettes or ticks? when i was watching it it didn't look like alcholic anything.

She doesn’t want to buy anything because she has to be intentional and clutter free.

    Um, no. You’re broke.

I noticed in her story that she had no plastic containers for her drawers and things were just sitting in there all willy nilly. thought that was strange for her.

Is there any reason she put the dishwasher tabs in a store-bought container? I do not understand this concept at all. It seems wasteful and unnecessary since those things come in a container that is sturdy enough. It is most likely for the “aesthetic”, making it a complete waste of money. She is Marie Asbury 2.0.

I just started watching Marie Asbury.

We're never going to let her forget that she needs to tell the truth about Molly.

I saw that Oakley posted about Meh today, haven't had time to go watch yet.

i'm watching now. she is talking about megs return, and how she is linking products like finish dishwashing tabs.

Why does she say a dog belongs to a child? It isn’t like that child is responsible for that dog- feeding it, walking it, grooming it, etc. it makes no sense. It is just a weird flex. We have a cat. It was my son’s idea to adopt her, but the cat is not his- the cat is our family cat. I don’t understand Shay. Like everything in her life belongs to someone- K’s dog, Shay’s recipes, etc. very strange!

i got a dog as a gift for my 14 or 15th birthday. a gold retriever from a friends dogs 2nd litter. he was essentially a family dog - and even when i got married and the army moved us from my home i left the dog because i couldn't do that to my dad who was really the dogs owner and caretaker.

i would assume it's for when the older kids "go to college" they can take their dog. or it's just who the dog gravitates more to and prefers to spend their time with.

    QUOTE (AmandaLorian @ 4/23/2024, 07:31 PM)
I guess we could go round and round. The fact is, if a person says they are against Papa Jay's "intolerant" views, they are themselves intolerant? Like - they don't tolerate Papa Jay...right? If you come down firmly on one side or the other of the political aisle, there's going to be a level of "intolerance" there - if we are honest with one another. Calling someone out for "intolerance" IS intolerant. Holding strong political opinions inherently requires a rejection of (intolerance for) other political opinions.

This is why I hate when things here veer into politics. People who speak with such authority and are so sure they're correct are just as "intolerant" as the people they accuse of intolerance.

And yep. Said what I said. Still love to snark on Shay, though.

i totally agree. i hate to see people so strong in their convictions that someone elses opinion is just wrong and "how dare they!". i have friends with all political aligning's and i've never stop being their friend because we voted for a different president or they supported something i didn't. i love the way you put this.
