Gerard Butler is on board to produce a film adaptation of Victoria Schwab’s young fantasy novel “A Darker Shade of Magic” which Sony Pictures is in negotiations to acquire following an intense bidding war.

The story centers on Kell, a magician who has the ability to travel between four parallel universes connected by one magical city, in this case London – Grey London where magic is a myth, Red London where it is revered, White London where magic is battled over, and Black London where magic has overpowered the people.

When Kell meets Delilah Bard, a London pickpocket, he’s whisked into a universe-hopping adventure. The book marks the first in a trilogy of novels that could lead to a potential film franchise. Neal Moritz, Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson will also produce.

Butler has the action films “Geostorm” and “Hunter Killer” on the way later this year.

Gerard Butler is back in action with the lead in Snow Ponies, the feature directorial debut of second-unit veteran Darrin Prescott (John Wick: Chapter 2, Black Panther). The script by Pat Healy was on the 2006 Black List. Sierra/Affinity is financing the project and will take it out to buyers at the European Film Market this month.

Snow Ponies follows a crew of seven hardened men who travel across a vicious landscape to deliver a mysterious package. Met by murderous bandits and brutal obstacles at every turn, they are forced to choose between survival and honor, loyalty and deceit — all the while wondering what secrets their precious cargo might contain. Production is set to begin this year.

Kelly McCormick will produce with 87eleven, along with Butler and Alan Siegel via their G-BASE production company. Sierra’s Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg are executive producing, along with Healy and Bryan Brucks.

Butler is coming off the action sequel London Has Fallen, which grossed $205M worldwide, with nearly 70% of the total coming from overseas. Repped by CAA and Alan Siegel Entertainment, he is shooting Den of Thieves and has Geostorm set for an October bow.

Prescott is repped by WME and McCormick, and Healy is with Gersh and Luber Rocklin.

I felt like there was a real connection there, a real love and concern, and I think that comes across on screen in a way that people are going to be surprised to see Gerry.”

''Geostorm'' by Dean Devlin will be released on Oct. 20, 2017 in the US and Ed Harris has joined the cast and will play the role of the Secretary Dekkom.
Ed Harris is all set to take on the role of the Secretary Of State. His role is pivotal in the movie as he tries to save the earth from a ''devastating man-made storm.'' His boss's role is played by Andy García. Garcia is playing the role of President Palma in the movie and becomes a target to be assassinated. He also tries to save him and plays a crucial role in the mission to save Earth in the movie.

Gerard Butler will play the role of Jake, the satellite designer who teams up with his estranged brother Max played by Jim Sturgess, to save the world from an ''epic man-made storm.'' Apparently the world's climate-controlling satellites develop some faults and start malfunctioning. Max had plotted the plan to assassinate President Palma in the movie.
Abbie Cornish, who plays the role of Agent Sarah seems to have a significant role in the movie. She is the love interest of Max (Jim Sturgess). The viewers can expect some nice romantic undertones amidst the high-octane drama. The fans can hope for some steamy scenes in the movie which will entertain the viewers amidst the drama of space shuttles and plot to kill the president.
Dana Goldberg will produce the movie along with Dean Devlin, David Ellison, Rachel Olschan and Marc Roskin, reported comingsoon.net. So this star studded movie is expected to do well in the box-office, however there are critics which do not feel the same. There were many reviews in the media which talked about a weak plot which might not be able to compete against all the upcoming movies to be released in the same weekend.
The makers of this movie originally had planned to release this movie on Mar. 25, and later pushed it to Jan. 13, 2017. As per the latest updates, it will be released on Oct. 20, 2017. Alexandra Lara will play the role of Ute Fassbinder, The Wrap reported.

El actor se define como un hombre con un toque de chico rudo, aunque nunca un macho. “Es una mezcla de muchas cosas. Siento que me presento como el hombre de hombres, pero con un cierto elemento de romance, con un poco de tosquedad o como de tipo rudo. Pero me encanta la aventura. No creo que la gente tenga una idea de mí como un hombre con gran fineza. Me gusta mantenerme masculino y no pensar tanto en la apariencia. Pero al mismo tiempo tener ese lado suave, no solo ser un macho”, expresó.
